For centuries, we've cleaned up after the supernaturals and provided shelter when it was needed. We've stepped in when the humans have gotten too close to the truth and covered the truth up in forms of urban legends or myths to keep humanity at ease.
The world we live in now is dangerous. With all the scientific progress made, the humans would exploit the gifted if they learned the truth and maintaining the secret has never been more crucial.
We're scholars, priests, leaders of society... We could be your next door neighbor and you wouldn't be any wiser. Our Order works from the shadows, unless our task requires we reveal our existence to other supernaturals. Vampire, witch, werewolf... These distinctions mean nothing to us as we are all gifted.
We have been around in one form or another since the dawn of the gifted civilization and we will continue to exist as long as our cause does. We are the Order of Equilibrium and we have come to Bitter Springs to assess the town and to study the society. You won't know who we are unless we choose to invite you in, and be warned, we demand absolute obedience from our members so don't accept an invitation lightly."
Members info
The members of the order are picked with great care by a grand council. Most of the members are there because they want to learn from others, some are there because they have nowhere else to turn. When a member is not on a long term assignment, they usually stay at the safe houses or various Quarters around the world. If they do leave these safe havens, they tend to stay in hotels and move around when they aren't assigned a specific task. Members on long term assignments are usually assigned upper middle class housing in their town of interest to try to blend in with the natives.
All the members are tasked with recording their encounters with other gifted and report back to the archivists who'll store the information in one of the many vaults of knowledge the Order possesses. Some members are charged with simply tracing the lineages of great supernaturals, others to clean up messes. A member's task is decided based on said member's skills and knowledge and changing rank and task requires a great deal of training and a lot of tests.
Once you are accepted into the order and assigned your rank, you are expected to follow orders at all times. Membership is for life, regardless of how much of it you have. More often than not, members are assigned to just fit in and watch a society than anything else.
